In the 19'th century Sigmund Freud developed a theory called the Madonna/Whore complex. In short it tells the story about men not being able to see women as persons.
The theory holds that men put women into two widely separate categories. A women is either a sacred madonna (a sister, mother or wife) or she is a cheap whore.
When my friend and model Mad Cat became pregnant she felt that the expectations about her shifted. The Madonna/Whore complex is still alive, two hundred years later...
